Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) [India], April 23 (ANI): As the country mourns the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of innocent tourists on Tuesday, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic demise of Indian Air Force Corporal Tage Hailyan, hailing from the state’s Lower Subansiri district.
Taking to the social media platform X in the aftermath of the attack, Khandu conveyed his condolences, noting that Corporal Hailyang, a native of Tajang village, was visiting Pahalgam with his wife when his life was taken in the attack.
The Chief Minister paid tribute to the late Corporal’s bravery and dedication, stating that his service to the nation with courage and honour was a source of pride. Khandu also extended his heartfelt sympathies to Hailyang’s family.
Khandu added that his demise was not just a loss to the family but also a loss for the nation.
“Deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Corporal Tage Hailyang of the Indian Air Force, a brave son of Arunachal Pradesh who hailed from Tajang village in Lower Subansiri. While visiting Pahalgam with his wife, his life was cruelly taken in a senseless act of terror. He served the nation with courage and honour, and his untimely death is a great loss not only to his family but to the entire country. Our thoughts are with his loved ones, especially his wife, who survived this horrific incident,” he said.
“May they find strength and solace in this unimaginable time of grief. We will always remember Corporal Hailyang for his service and sacrifice,” he added.
Earlier, defence officials confirmed the tragic demise of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, a 26-year-old Indian Navy officer from Karnal, Haryana, killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Narwal had recently married and was on leave, enjoying a short vacation in Kashmir.
According to the defence official, the 26-year-old officer, who was posted in Kochi, had travelled to Kashmir for a short vacation after his marriage on April 16. His wedding reception was held on April 19. Narwal had joined the Navy just two years ago and was posted in Kochi.
Both deaths of the security personnel have sent shockwaves through their families, communities, and country. (ANI)
