Patna (Bihar) [India], October 16 (ANI): Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Wednesday claimed that his party’s candidates for the upcoming by-elections in Bihar will be highly capable, local individuals who are elected by the people and committed to improving the state.
Kishor emphasized that his party’s candidates will be “sons of the soil” of Bihar, meaning they will be local residents who truly understand the needs and concerns of the people.
“Tell me if you have seen such candidates ever before in Bihar Vidhan Sabha elections. I have told people so far and assured them that every candidate who would contest elections and play a major role in Jan Suraaj would be even more capable than Prashant Kishor, the person would be a son of the soil of Bihar, a local, someone elected by the people and join the efforts of Jan Suraaj only to improve Bihar,” he said.

Prashant Kishor also announced former vice chief of Army Staff, (retired) Lieutenant General Krishna Singh as the party’s candidate for the Tarari Assembly constituency in the upcoming by-elections in Bihar.
After being selected as the party’s candidate from Tarari, Singh said that he will serve the people wholeheartedly adding that their aim is very pious and they have a clean image.
“I will serve people from my heart…People told him (Prashant Kishor) to bring me so that Tarari improves. If they have such trust, how can I break it? I will have to come…We don’t see rivals, we see just our aim and that we have to win. Our aim is very pious, we have a clean image,” Singh said.
Earlier on Tuesday, ECI announced bypolls to 48 assembly constituencies including nine seats in Uttar Pradesh and the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala on November 13. The counting will be held on November 23.
The bypolls are spread across fifteen states – Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
In Bihar, bypolls will be held in Tarari, Ramgarh, Belaganj and Imamganj on November 13, and the counting will take place on November 23.
Prashant Kishor officially launched his new political party, “Jan Suraaj Party,” in Patna on October 2.
At the launch event, Kishor said that the party has been active for the past two years and recently received approval from the Election Commission of India.
“Jan Suraaj campaign is going on for 2-3 years. People are asking when we will be forming the party. We all must thank God, today the Election Commission has officially accepted Jan Suraaj as Jan Suraaj Party,” Prashant Kishor said. (ANI)
