Kolkata (West Bengal) [India] October 14 (ANI): West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose on Monday received the memorandum from the Junior Doctor’s front on their concern about the RG Kar rape and murder case.
Junior doctors has held a protest march to Governor’s house ‘Raj Bhavan Abhijan’ in Kolkata today.
Earlier in the day, Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh said that junior doctor don’t want the case to be resolved.
TMC leader Kunal Gosh accused junior doctor of “trying their best to cause anarchy and disorder.”
“They don’t want the case to be resolved, they are trying their best to cause anarchy and disorder. Some of them are left and ultra-left faces. The first demand was they wanted CBI instead of Kolkata Police but within 24 hours the accused was arrested by Kolkata Police. Then High Court handed over the case to CBI and they welcomed it,” Ghosh said.
On Thursday, West Bengal Junior Doctors’ Front wrote a letter to Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, expressing frustration over the state government’s silence regarding their concerns.
In the letter they noted that their previous emails on September 26 and September 29 had gone unanswered, despite their hopes that the government was taking their demands seriously.
The doctors stated that the recent meeting provided no new information and that they were verbally updated on their demands, which had already been publicly announced. They insisted on their right to know the progress of the government’s actions.
“We reserve every right to formally know the progress of the works that are being done by the state,” the letter continued, emphasising their demand for a status report every seven days. The group pointed out that it has been 23 days since their last meeting without any updates or the promised security audit.
On August 9, a woman trainee doctor was found dead in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. (ANI)
