New Delhi [India], October 9 (ANI): Delhi police on Wednesday informed the Delhi High Court that it has registered an FIR in the matter of the death of a boy at Kalkaji temple due to uncovered electric wire.
It also said that it will file a charge sheet within a month. Thereafter the High Court asked the police to file an Action Taken Report.
Justice Prathiba M Singh took note of the status report filed by Delhi Police and an affidavit filed by Mahant Surendra Nath.
Standing counsel for Delhi Police Sanjay Lau submitted that a status report has been filed. An FIR has been registered under the section related to death due to a Negligent act.
Lau also submitted that there are so many uncovered wires and they are covered now. The place of incidents was 15 metres away in the complex, not 500 metres away.

He further submitted that it is the responsibility of management committee/baridars to take care of the facilities like lights and others.
The court asked whether the family of the deceased paid any compensation.
Advocate Dhruv Gupta appeared for Mahant Surendra Nath and submitted that he has to take instructions on this issue.
Justice Singh said, ” Our concern is that it should not be repeated in future. It happened last year as well. Baridars have to take responsibility, they can’t shy away.”
The counsel for Mahant said that they are not shying away.
The High Court was also informed that the demarcation had been completed.
The police also said that an investigation is going on and a charge sheet would be filed within a month, said the police.
