Paris [France], September 3 (ANI): Indian para-sprinter Deepthi Jeevanji bagged the 16th medal for India as she won the bronze on Tuesday in the women’s 400m T20 final at the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024.
The para-athlete finished the race in 55.82 seconds. The gold medal went to Ukraine’s Yuliia Shuliar who completed the race in 55.16 seconds and the silver went to Turkey’s Aysel Onder who went on to finish the race in 55.23.
Earlier in the qualification round, Jeevanji finished first in her women’s 400m-T20 round 1 in 55.45s. Ukraine’s Yuliia Shuliar clocked her season-best timing of 56.49s to secure the second spot and qualify for the final. Brazil’s Antonia Keyla Da Silva Barros also produced her season’s best performance. She finished third and qualified for the final with a timing of 57.54s.
Other than this medal, India clinched many more in the ongoing marquee event.
