Konaseema (Andhra Pradesh) [India], August 23 (ANI): Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday launched a scathing attack on his predecessor, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and called him a “psycho leader” who inflicted suffering on the state during his five-year rule.
Naidu made these remarks while addressing the Vanapalli Gram Sabha in the Kothapeta constituency.
“The state has suffered under the rule of a “psycho” leader for the past five years. Jagan wants to come back into power, and you all know what will happen if he does?” said Naidu.
He emphasized his government’s commitment to developing the state and its panchayats, announcing allocations of Rs 900 crore for panchayat development and an additional Rs 1,100 crore for further progress.
“We are committed to the development of the state and its panchayats. Recently, we allocated Rs 900 crores for the development of panchayats, and soon, we will disburse Rs 1,100 crores for their further development. Streetlights were stolen during the past governments, but we have initiated a plan to create wealth from waste,” said Naidu.
Naidu mentioned the initiatives taken to generate wealth from waste, increase daily labourers’ wages, and develop action plans for panchayat development.
“Wages for daily labourers will be increased, and we are creating an action plan to develop the panchayats. Before the elections, we promised to sanction houses for poor people,” added Naidu.
He further stated that 600 villages would be constructed and provided to the people in Kothapalli mandal.
“In Vanapalli village, Kothapalli mandal, 600 houses will be constructed and given to them. A drinking water supply will be provided, and toilets will be constructed for them. CC roads and BT roads will be laid shortly. Free cylinders will be distributed shortly,” said the Andhra CM.
Naidu also assured the provision of drinking water supply, the construction of toilets, and the distribution of free gas cylinders to the community.
Moreover, he stated that despite the state being in debt, files for the Mega DSC for unemployed youth and the abolition of the Land Tilting Act have been signed.
Additionally, new passbooks have been printed with the government emblem, and 99 per cent of pensions have been distributed to the people.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that 100 Anna Canteens have been reopened, and a skill census will be conducted for the welfare of youth and the unemployed.
He added that an appeal has been made for an expert committee to visit the Polavaram project, and financial assistance has been assured for its completion.
Furthermore, Naidu announced that Gram Sabhas would be formed in 13,226 villages across the state, a decision praised by Deputy Chief Minister Pavan Kalyan, who lauded the government as one that serves the poor.
Deputy Chief Minister Pavan Kalyan praised the government’s achievements, including creating 9 crore days of employment, building 40 per cent of cement roads, and planning to complete all village roads in five years. Naidu announced the launch of Janmabhoomi 2.0 in January 2025 for the state’s welfare.
Kalyan highlighted the government’s achievements, stating that 9 crore days of employment were created under the Employment Guarantee Scheme, benefiting 54 lakh families and generating Rs 4,500 crore worth of work.
He also noted that 40 per cent of cement roads had been built, and plans are in place to complete all village roads in the next five years, along with 5 lakh soak pits and 1.5 lakh animal sheds across the state.
Additionally, Chandra Babu Naidu announced that Janmabhoomi 2.0 would be launched in January 2025 for the welfare of the state. (ANI)
