Chamoli (Uttarakhand) [India], August 22 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the three-day Nanda Devi Lokjat Fair at Kurud in Chamoli district on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister visited Maa Nanda and offered prayers and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the state.
During the occasion, the Chief Minister made announcements including the construction of sports grounds in Nandanagar, Narayanbagh and Dewal, security work on both banks of Pranamati River, flood protection work in Dhadarbagh of Tharali. The Chief Minister also declared the Nanda Devi Lokjat Fair as a state fair, to upgrade Nandanagar Hospital to a District Hospital.
CM Dhami said that traditional fairs work to connect us with our roots with our culture. He said that our government is preserving the mythological fairs of the state and providing grandeur by adding new dimensions. The Chief Minister said that the present government is developing while respecting religious faith.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is working for transparent recruitment examinations keeping in view the future of the youth in the state. He said that while on the one hand, the government has effectively stopped cheating by making anti-cheating laws, on the other hand, it has sent more than 100 culprits involved in cheating in recruitment examinations in the state to jail.
CM Dhami said that the result of the government’s working system is that till now more than 16 thousand youth have received appointment letters.
He said that the work of sustainable development is also going on at a rapid pace in the state. Due to this Uttarakhand stands at the first position in sustainable development in the country. The Chief Minister said that Badrinath and Kedarnath are being developed under the guidance of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. (ANI)
