Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 14 (ANI): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the ‘Swachhta Apnao, Bimari Bhagao’ program under the special cleanliness campaign at Gandhi Park Dehradun on Wednesday.
During the event, CM Dhami gave the message of cleanliness by sweeping.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off cleanliness vehicles (litre drinking cleaning machines) for 13 districts through the Panchayati Raj Department. The Chief Minister also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by cleaning his statue and also administered the oath of cleanliness to everyone.
CM Dhami said that the Swachhta Abhiyan can be done effectively only through collective efforts. Everyone should work on the Swachhta Mission at full capacity while discharging their social responsibilities. We all have the responsibility of cleanliness of the cities.
He said that Paryavaran Mitras have discharged their responsibility with full dedication to preventing diseases during the monsoon. A special cleanliness campaign is going on in the state from August 12 to 15. Public awareness work is also being done in Dehradun with the cooperation of various social organizations, youth, and NGOs.
While praising the Baini Sena for creating awareness about cleanliness in Haldwani, the Chief Minister said that cleanliness is an integral part of our culture and civilization. Cleanliness has also been described as important in the Vedas and Puranas. Where there is cleanliness, Gods and Goddesses reside there.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the entire country, this beginning of cleanliness has come out in the form of a mass movement. He said that the state government is continuously working in the field of cleanliness in urban and rural areas. For which the state government is continuously working on many schemes.
The Chief Minister said that there is a deep connection between cleanliness and the environment. To keep the environment clean, we have to give priority to cleanliness. Technology also has to be promoted to promote cleanliness. Soon the system of QR codes will also be started to monitor cleanliness.
He said that PM Modi has started the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign for environmental protection. He urged everyone to plant trees under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. (ANI)
