New Delhi [India], July 19 (ANI): A businessman was allegedly robbed of Rs 2 lakh in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area by four robbers, police said on Thursday. One of the accused has been arrested.
Following the incident, police formed three teams and mounted CCTV surveillance. It was observed that four robbers were roaming the back street, as per police.
Police said that the robbers fired before fleeing from the spot.
A case of robbery has been registered under Section 311/2 (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
One of the four accused, identified as Rakesh alias Prince, a resident of Dharampura in Gandhi Nagar, was apprehended and he confessed to his crime during interrogation, police said.
According to the police, Prince, along with Vishal and 2 others, committed the robbery after collecting information from one juvenile, whose father is an employee of the victim.
Prince has been arrested, and an investigation is in progress, police said. (ANI)
