Taking to X, Additional Directorate General Public Information of the Indian Army shared, “The Transplant team of Command Hospital Western Command, Chandimandir, achieved another milestone in organ donation after having successfully harvested the organ post Cardiac death, which is the First in the history of Armed Forces Medical Services #AFMS.”
The organs retrieved after cardiac death into needy recipients gave them a lease of life, said the Indian Army.
“The organs retrieved after cardiac death have been successfully harvested, transported to another city, & transplanted into needy recipients, giving them a lease of life,” the Indian Army further shared.
“This rare feat resulted in the successfully harvested kidneys being transplanted into two recipients, one from the Indian Navy and the other a dependant from the Indian Army,” Indian Army further shared. (ANI)
