Patna (Bihar) [India], October 11 (ANI): As Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan continue his efforts to reach an effective seat-sharing arrangement with his NDA partners ahead of the Bihar Assembly election, party MP Shambhavi Choudhary assured that all MPs and office bearers have authorised Paswan to make the final decision.
Sambhavi Chaudhary said that the party want to ensure that everything happens in a well-coordinated manner.
“Our national president has said that they are continuously discussing, and all our MPs and office-bearers have authorised our national president, and whatever decision they take will be final. Since there are elections, such meetings continue to occur during the election period. We have a week to submit nominations. Our effort is to ensure that everything happens in a well-coordinated manner,” she said.
BJP leader Suresh Kumar Sharma said that the NDA’s list of candidates will be announced soon.
“There will be discussions on the names of all NDA candidates from Bihar… These may be announced by tomorrow or the day after,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chirag Paswan has suggested that the talks are moving forward in a “positive manner”
Speaking to reporters outside his residence on Friday, Chirag Paswan said, “The talks are going in a positive manner and are in their end stage now. We want to hold discussions on all minute issues, seats, candidates, and campaigning.”
Earlier, Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal stated that the seat-sharing issue has been resolved, and the Central Parliamentary Board will announce the names of candidates on Saturday and Sunday.
Speaking to the media, Jaiswal said, “In Delhi, the BJP held a 3-day election committee meeting for seat sharing and a panel was formed for that. The BJP is a national party, and the central leadership selects candidates through the Central Election Committee, the Central Parliamentary Board.”
“The seat-sharing issue has been resolved. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, the candidates will be selected and announced in Delhi,” he said.
The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the Bihar Assembly elections. The 243 Assembly seats will go to the polls in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
This upcoming electoral contest will be between the NDA, led by the BJP, and Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)), and the INDIA bloc, led by Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The INDIA bloc also includes the Congress party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (CPI-ML) led by Deepankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM), and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP). Additionally, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj has also staked claims on all 243 seats of the state. (ANI)
