Pittoragarh (Uttarakhand) [India], June 21(ANI): On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami performed yoga with local people, security personnel and tourists at Parvati Sarovar in Adi Kailash in the district of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand on Friday.
He further expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for popularising yoga in the world.
Meanwhile, he also offered prayers at Parvati Kund in Adi Kailash.
While in Adi Kailash, Uttarakhand CM Dhami said, “First up of all, I want to thank PM Modi Ji, as after he presented the resolution at the UN, Yoga has expanded throughout the world under his leadership. It is possible due to his efforts that the whole world is continuously celebrating June 21 as International Yoga Day.”
He further stated, “Today we are celebrating International Yoga Day at Adi Kailash, which is situated at such high altitudes. Also, Modi Ji is the first PM who visit the border area of Adi Kailash. He communicated with the locals and had meetings with them.”
Highlighting the increased tourism in the area, CM Dhami asserted, “The tourism has grown in this area a lot as PM Modi through his visit drew the attention of people in the border area of Adi Kailash. The tourism potential has grown significantly. In the upcoming days, this area will see many more pilgrims.”
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Modi performed Yoga at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar today. PM Modi urged people of the country to make yoga a part of their daily lives as the world celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga on Friday.
“As we mark the 10th International Day of Yoga, I urge everyone to make it a part of their daily lives. Yoga fosters strength, good health and wellness. Wonderful to join this year’s programme in Srinagar,” the Prime Minister posted on social media platform X.
He congratulated all the people of the country and those doing Yoga in every corner of the world and said the world is witnessing a new Yoga economy going forward for the last 10 years.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for Self and Society,” emphasizes yoga’s vital role in fostering both individual well-being and societal harmony. (ANI)
