New Delhi [India], June 20 (ANI): BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi on Thursday said that the government is determined and will not allow any injustice to happen to lakhs of students due to cancellation of the NET exam and irregularities surrounding the NEET-UG exam.
Trivedi also launched an attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi saying that the Congress leader has nothing to do with the future of lakhs of students and just wants to play his politics on NEET and issue & UGC-NET exam cancellation.
“Government is fully alert and sensitive over NEET exam. Government is determined, and won’t let any injustice happen to lakhs of students…strict action will be taken against those who are responsible for this…Rahul Gandhi has nothing to do with the future of lakhs of students, he just wants to play his politics on this topic. In Rajasthan, the paper leak happened but Rahul Gandhi did not utter a word on it,” Trivedi told ANI.
Notably, the Ministry of Education on Wednesday cancelled the University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) exam conducted by the NTA on June 18.
A fresh examination shall be conducted, for which information shall be shared separately, the Ministry of Education said.
As per the Ministry of Education, “On June 19, 2024, the University Grants Commission (UGC) received certain inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs on the Examination. These inputs prima-facie indicate that the integrity of the aforesaid examination may have been compromised.”
Amid the massive row surrounding the cancellation of the UGC-NET exam, the Education Ministry has said that the test was scrapped because its integrity may have been compromised and has emphasised that it won’t hesitate to take action against anyone.
The NEET-UG 2024 exam was held on May 5, and the results were announced on June 4, which was earlier than the scheduled date of June 14. Following the release of the results, there were protests alleging irregularities and paper leaks. This was due to the revelation that 67 students had achieved a perfect score of 720.
The NEET-UG examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), paves the way for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country. (ANI)
