Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 20 (ANI): Karnataka Police on Thursday served notice to YouTuber Ajeet Bharti in connection with a case lodged against him in Bengaluru for his remarks on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
The FIR was registered on a complaint by Karnataka Congress leader BK Bopanna at the High Grounds police station in Bengaluru.
Bopanna alleged that Bharti, in a video posted on ‘X’, stated that Rahul Gandhi was planning to rebuild the Babri Masjid in place of the newly-opened Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Speaking about Karnataka police serving him notice, YouTuber Ajeet Bharti said that the notice said that within 7 days he has to go to a certain police station in Bengaluru and cooperate in the investigation.
He added that if the court doesn’t give him relief within 7 days, he will go and join the investigation.
“The thing is that 2-3 days ago an FIR was filed against me under 153A, 505(2). Today Karnataka police came to my house and they said they have come to give me notice… I informed the local police station and asked them, do you have any information about this. I told the local police that I don’t think their intentions are right because they had arrested journalists earlier on the pretext of giving notice… Noida police came immediately. They spoke to them. Then they took my signatures on some documents and left… The notice said that within 7 days I have to come to a certain police station in Bengaluru and cooperate in the investigation. The thing is that there is no scope for investigation in the case that has been made… If I don’t get relief from the court within 7 days, I will go and join the investigation,” he told ANI.
On June 16, Bollywood actress and BJP MP from Mandi, Kangana Ranaut came out in support of Youtuber Ajeet Bharti after he claimed that the Karnataka Congress had filed an FIR against him for his remark on Congress leader Rahul.
“Aap desi Johnny Depp ho aapko kuch nahi hone denge (You are local Johnny Depp, won’t let anything happen to you),” Kangana Ranaut had said in a post on X.
Kangana Ranaut was replying to a post by Ajeet Bharti where he said, “It was a bit of a moe-moe moment for me that yesterday I had written that BJP never stood by me and today I got calls from both HMO and PMO that the issue is in their knowledge and every activity is being monitored.”

“Apart from this, some ministers and senior officials also called. It would be better if this FIR-baazi stops, if it continues then no one is going to stop it. I have nothing to say except gratitude. Even those with whom I have disagreements wrote on Twitter. Apart from this…everyone wrote for me and raised their voice. Thanks to everyone,” Ajeet Bharti added in the post. (ANI)
