Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], June 13 (ANI): Amidst the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET-UG) paper leak and results controversy row, members of All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) held a major protest regarding the same issue in front of Bikash Bhavan in Kolkata, West Bengal on Thursday.
While protesting, the members of the All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) were spotted raising slogans and holding banners against the paper leak.
Several protestors were later detained by the Kolkata Police.
Meanwhile, several students were spotted protesting against the same cause at Jantar Mantar in the capital city of Delhi.

The protest came in the wake of ongoing NEET-UG results and paper leak controversy.
Earlier, in the day, Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan dismissed the allegations of the NEET-UG question paper leak and corruption in NTA.
While addressing the media about the Supreme Court’s hearing on the NEET-UG 2024 exam, Pradhan said, “There is no corruption. Almost 24 lakh students are associated with the NEET examination and the hearing in the Supreme Court regarding issues of 1,500 students is underway. The government has considered the specific issues of students and is obliged to give answers to the questions of students.”
“A committee including academicians has also been formed and the government will raise the issues in the Supreme Court based on the recommendations. NTA (National Testing Agency) was established on the orders of the Supreme Court only. It conducts three major examinations of NEET, JEE and CUET in 13 different languages and at different centres successfully in the country and worldwide. The government will take action against the responsible elements,” said Minister.
On questions about paper leaks, he said, “There is no paper leak. No evidence or proof of a paper leak has been found yet. The grace marks facilities that had been provided to 1550 students were recommended by the court only. Now, a panel of academicians has been formed for the same. Let’s wait for the verdict of the court. We will implement the court’s verdict.”
In the meanwhile, The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday told the Supreme Court that score-cards of 1563 candidates who got “grace marks” in the 2024 National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) exam will be cancelled and the candidates will have a chance to reappear for the exam.
NTA told a bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta that a committee has been constituted to review the results of over 1,563 candidates who were awarded “grace marks” to compensate for the loss of time suffered while appearing for NEET-UG.
“The Committee has decided to cancel the score-cards of 1563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates who were given grace marks and these students will be given the option to take a re-test,” NTA said.
“Exam will be conducted on June 23 and the result will be declared before June 30,” it added.
The Apex Court reiterated that it will not stay the counselling of NEET-UG, 2024.”Counselling will go on and we will not stop it. If the exam goes then everything goes in totality so nothing to fear,” said the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court will hear the petitions on July 8.
Aspirants have raised the issue of leakage of question papers, awarding compensatory marks and anomalies in questions of NEET 2024.
Several petitions were filed in the apex court seeking direction to recall NEET-UG 2024 results and to conduct the examination afresh, alleging paper leakage and malpractices in the test held on May 5.
NEET-UG examination, conducted by NTA, is the pathway for admissions into MBBS, BDS and AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country. (ANI)
