New Delhi [India], June 11 (ANI): Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena spoke with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini amid the water crisis in the national capital, and the latter reiterated that the state is providing water to Delhi “as per the allocated share.”
LG Saxena said that CM Saini assured him of all possible help despite the state’s own constraints amid the heat wave.
“Spoke to Hon’ble CM, Haryana, Shri Nayab Saini ji yesterday. He reiterated that water was being provided to Delhi as per allocated share and assured of all possible help, despite the state’s own constraints due to the ongoing heat wave,” Saxena said in a post on X.

Earlier on Monday, Delhi Water Minister Atishi met LG Saxena to discuss the water crisis. In the meeting, Saxena assured her that he would talk to the Haryana government regarding its water supply to Delhi.
Notably, the AAP is accusing the BJP government in Haryana of not releasing water in the national capital as per its due share.
“Water level in the Wazirabad barrage has dropped and the Munak canal is receiving less water. We have requested LG Saxena to talk to the Haryana government concerning less water being released into the Munak canal,” Atishi told ANI after meeting with Delhi LG.
She asserted that seven water treatment plants in Delhi depend on the Munak canal for water.
“LG has assured us that he will talk to the Haryana government. He has also assured that he will induct a single-charge officer to ensure that administrative work in the Delhi Jal Board is carried out adequately. He has assured that the lack of officers in the Delhi Jal Board will be sorted out,” Atishi said.
“We were supposed to receive water from Himachal Pradesh via Haryana but have not yet received it. We have received information from a Supreme Court affidavit that a water dispute is also going on between the Himachal Pradesh and Haryana governments,” she added.
Earlier, Delhi Water Minister Atishi wrote to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, saying the capital was facing a major water crisis, and urged him to ensure that 1,050 cusecs of water are released in the Yamuna river through the Munak canal.
Meanwhile, residents of Delhi continue to face severe water crises as long lines of people around water tankers are seen in many areas of the national capital.
With piped water being disrupted, in several areas of the city water is being supplied to the people through tankers. (ANI)
