Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], May 16 (ANI): Reacting to Madhya Pradesh Congress’s continuous demand about the dismissal of state cabinet minister Kunwar Vijay Shah over remark on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday said that Congress can do as much drama as it wants but they know that it is all a judicial matter and they cannot be above the judiciary.
CM Yadav further accused that wherever there is an opportunity to insult the judiciary, the Congress does not refrain from doing so.
“Congress can do as much drama as it wants but they know that it is all a judicial matter. When the matter is sub-judice, they cannot be above the judiciary. There was a case against the LoP too, they should ask for a resignation from him as well. Whenever there is an opportunity to insult the judiciary, Congress will not miss it,” the CM said.
“Congress should remember the past incident of Allahabad High Court that when it gave verdict against the then PM Indira Gandhi, the Congress declared emergency across the nation. After that Congress also changed the law on triple talaq given by the Supreme Court through Lok Sabha,” the CM added.
The MP CM further alleged that the Congress had a record of making mockery of the Court.
“We respect the court and follow the order of the court. But the Congress has a record of mockery of the court’s order. If the Congress looked at the past incident, they made fun of the court…”
Earlier today, a delegation of Madhya Pradesh Congress leaders met Governor Mangubhai Patel at Raj Bhavan in Bhopal demanding dismissal of the state cabinet minister Vijay Shah over his objectionable statement on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi.
The Congress delegation also demonstrated and staged a sit-in outside the Raj Bhavan in the state capital and demanded that they want the resignation of the minister and a decision must be taken immediately.
Earlier, following the direction of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, an FIR was registered against Minister Vijay Shah over his objectionable remarks at Manpur police station in Indore district on Wednesday.
The FIR was filed under sections 152, 196(1)(b), and 197(1)(c) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). This comes after a division bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur took suo motu cognisance against him and directed the Director General of Police (DGP) of the state to lodge an immediate FIR.
