Bhubaneswar (Odisha)[India], June 4 (ANI): After official trends by ECI showed that BJP is leading on 77 seats in the Odisha Assembly elections and 19 Lok Sabha seats, Odisha BJP vice-president Golak Mohapatra said that people of Odisha were fed up with current Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and have decided to move ahead with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their leader.
Mohapatra said, “The people of Odisha were fed up with the current govt and the workers of BJP have done a lot of work in Odisha. The election rallies of PM Modi and Union Ministers have benefitted us. CM Naveen Patnaik is trailing at one of the seats right now. In the early trends, the BJP is leading on 77 seats in the Assembly elections and on 19 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.”
He further said that people of Odisha have decided to move ahead with PM Narendra Modi and they wanted to get rid of Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
“Seeing the trend we can say that by evening BJP will form government in the state. People of Odisha have given full support to BJP,” he added.
As per official trends by ECI, BJP crosses the majority mark; leading on 77 seats in the Odisha Assembly elections. BJP is also leading on 19 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state. BJD is leading on 53 seats, Congress on 12 seats. The majority mark in the Odisha Legislative Assembly is 74.
Meanwhile laddoos are being prepared amid celebrations at BJP headquarters after the latest trends of Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections of the state.
Voting in Odisha concluded on June 1, along with the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha polls. The assembly polls in Odisha were conducted simultaneously along with the parliamentary elections.
Odisha Governor Raghubar Das had on June 3 dissolved the 16th Odisha state assembly ahead of today’s counting.
Odisha, with a total of 21 Lok Sabha constituencies and 146 Assembly constituencies, went to polls across four phases with the first phase held on May 13, and the following phases held on May 20, May 25, and June 1. (ANI)
