New Delhi [India], March 27 (ANI): Delhi Minister Ashish Sood on Thursday emphasised that the budget presented by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is for the development of every section of the society, and their government works for results, not for recognition.
Speaking in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Sood also targeted the Aam Aadmi Party and said that they have tricked people with a criminal psyche like Charles Sobhraj.
“Whether it’s an astronaut or a rickshaw driver, everyone wants what they couldn’t get to be given to their children. You (AAP) have only deceived people for your branding. You have tricked people with a criminal psyche like Charles Sobhraj. The money that Kejriwal Ji spent wasn’t from his grandmother’s house; it was from Delhi’s taxpayers,” Ashish Sood said.
“The budget presented by Delhi’s didi Rekha is for the development of every section of society. It is easy to talk about decency here, but it’s very difficult to follow it. Delhi’s resources are not for those who come from outside to live here. We will not allow any illegal migrant to stay in Delhi,” he emphasised.
The Delhi Minister asserted further that they have brought this budget to make Delhi not London or Paris, but the Delhi of true-hearted people.
“The AAP-da government has spent more on publicity than on the schemes from the budget. But our slogan is – budget for the revival of Delhi. Our government works for results, not for recognition,” he said.
Earlier today, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta expressed happiness after the passing of the Delhi Budget in the Assembly.
“I congratulate the people of Delhi that the budget for 2025-26 for developed Delhi has been passed today. This is going to write a new golden chapter in the history of Delhi; it is going to give relief to the people of Delhi. Now the Delhi government will start working on it,” CM Gupta said.
On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the budget as a “historic” step towards transforming Delhi into an investment and innovation-friendly city.
With a total allocation of Rs 1 lakh crore, this budget is expected to drive growth, development, and improvement in the quality of life for Delhi’s residents.
The budget has seen a significant rise of 31.58% from the previous year, with a total allocation of Rs1 lakh crore for various sectors, including education, transport, and urban development.
“In 2024-2025, the budget was Rs 76,000 crore, and this time, the budget is Rs 1 lakh crore, which is an increase of 31.58 per cent. We can call it the biggest increase in any budget in the country,” said Gupta. (ANI)
