Hyderabad, Telangana [India], March 17 (ANI): Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao on Monday took to social media to hit out at the Congress government, questioning its claims of Telangana’s economic progress.
In a post on social media platform X, Rao said, “So Congress Government wants us to believe that all is well in Telangana. Apparently according to them – Investments are coming in thick & fast – Agricultural Sector is growing – Welfare is at its highest – CM is working 18 hours a day.”
However, Rao pointed to a contradiction in the CM Revanth Reddy’s recent statements, asking, “Then why did the CM turn approver all of a sudden and confess yesterday that there is negative growth and a deficit of a whopping Rs 71,000 crores!! Is Telangana Rising or Falling?”
Rao blamed the state’s negative growth on the “negative politics and policies of Congress Government,” emphasizing the disconnect between their claims of progress and the reality of the state’s financial situation.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday accused KCR of having made Telangana bankrupt through his 10-year rule.
“The new Telangana state was handed over to KCR as a surplus State. After 10 years, KCR made Telangana bankrupt,” he said.
“People gave a big mandate to Congress in 2023 and showed their power to BRS. Can KCR not come to the people unless he has power? KCR is not coming out and letting his son and daughter-in-law roam the roads. Why is he being given opposition status when he is not coming out? Why are the salary and allowances paid to KCR?” he added.
The Chief Minister said that sanctioning Rs. 6,500 crores for a railway coach factory, Outer Ring Road, underground drainage, and other development works will put Warangal on par with Hyderabad.
He alleged that the previous government in the State had imposed a burden of Rs. 8 lakhs 29 thousand crores on the people in the last 10 years. It is required to pay Rs 1 lakh 53 thousand crores as interest and the outstanding amount. If such a big amount had been saved, the government would have built houses for all. Farm loans could have been waived for another 70 lakh people, he said.
Taking a dig at KCR, the Chief Minister said, “KCR said Capsicum crops will generate huge profits in crores. Let KCR tell the technique to the farmers and also show his skills in amassing Rs one lakh crores. I am ready to send 1000 youth to KCR’s farmhouse to learn the techniques.” (ANI)
