New Delhi [India], March 12 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended his greetings to the people of Haryana as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sweeps the elections to local bodies, saying that this victory was an expression of the “unwavering faith of people” in development works being carried out by the Nayab Singh Saini government in the state.
“I am very grateful to my family members in Haryana for the historic victory of BJP in the Haryana civic elections,” PM Modi posted on X.
He further said that the Haryana government would leave “no stone unturned” to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the people.
“This victory is an expression of the unwavering faith of the people in the development work being carried out by the government led by Nayab Singh Saini in the state. I assure the people of the state that we will leave no stone unturned to fulfil their hopes and aspirations,” the PM added.
He also thanked the BJP workers and said, “The hard work of the dedicated workers of the party has played a big role in this great victory, for which I heartily appreciate them.”
Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the local body government and the triple-engine government at the state level would play an essential role in releasing the vision of Viksit Bharat (developed India).
“Our local body government and this triple-engine government will play a crucial role in fulfilling PM Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’,” Saini told reporters.
Expressing gratitude towards people in the state, he said that the results of the local body elections were a “stamp of approval” on the triple engine government of Haryana.
“In the results of local body elections that came today, the people of Haryana have put their stamp of approval on the triple engine government. I thank the people of Haryana from the bottom of my heart. I thank the Election Commission and all the officials for conducting the elections peacefully,” CM Saini said.
Haryana Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said that the BJP has won 25 seats out of 32 in the municipal elections. The ruling party also managed to win the mayoral post from Ambala and eight other places in the state.
“In the municipal elections, BJP won 25 of the 32 seats and the Mayor seat with a thumping majority (in Ambala). People of Ambala Cantt have rewarded me for my efforts to develop the area,” Vij told reporters.
Claiming “conspiracy” against him ahead of the 2024 assembly elections, Vij said that people in his constituency set an example by electing him for the seventh time.
“In the Vidhan Sabha elections, a few traitors hatched a conspiracy. Despite that, they (people) made me win for the seventh time and set an example. BJP has won the election with the majority. We will seek the cooperation of both the councillors who have won and lost. Together, we will take Ambala Cantt to new heights of development,” the minister said.
Vij further stated that the BJP’s win in the municipal elections was indicative of the non-existence of opposition parties in Haryana.
“BJP has swept the elections in most places where polls were held. This indicates that the opposition parties ceased to exist in Haryana. People have shunned them and their negative politics,” he added.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed gratitude after the BJP recorded a massive victory in the Haryana local body elections, which concluded on Wednesday.
In a post on X, Shah asserted that Haryana has faith only in Modi ji.
“After the landslide victory in the Haryana Assembly elections, I am very grateful to the people of Haryana for giving their blessings to the BJP in the Municipal Corporation and Municipal Body elections as well. Under the leadership of Modi ji, the BJP has become the first choice of the people from the ward to the Vidhan Sabha and from the Panchayat to the Parliament,” he said on X.
“I heartily congratulate Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini ji, State President Mohan Lal Badauli and all the workers for this victory,” Shah said.
Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar said, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to all the urban voters of Haryana who gave all their support to the BJP and its candidates and gave a historic victory to BJP in Haryana. Looking at the work done by PM Modi and the good governance of the Nayab Saini government, the people of Haryana reposed their trust in the BJP.”
As the Haryana BJP sweeps the elections to local bodies with its candidates winning mayoral posts in nine places except Manesar, Parveen Joshi, Mayor-elect from Faridabad, on Wednesday expressed gratitude to people and said that she was aware of the difficulties and necessities faced by the people.
Asserting that people’s issues would be resolved, she apprised people of the assurances given by Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar, saying there would be no obstacles in implementing schemes for the people.
“I am aware of the difficulties and necessities of the people. There are issues with drinking water, garbage, and sewage. Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar has given assurance that we will work together and there will be no obstacles to the implementation of schemes. People have placed their trust in me…I express my gratitude to them. I will resolve their issues one by one,” Joshi said.
