One of the topics discussed on the show was his removal from the BBC dancing programme, and Brendan tried to explain why he was dropped from the show without giving too much away.
Brendan was on the programme from 2005 to 2017.
Earlier this year, he revealed he had been dropped from the show with his last celebrity partner being Charlotte Hawkins.
“The execs make these decisions on the show, and like I would if it was my show, I’d be like, ‘This is what I want, and this is what I don’t want’,” he said.
“I’m not a yes person. I don’t say yes to everything. I question things if I believe that they’re wrong.
“I do that quite often, as you’ve seen throughout all the series. But I don’t think it was one particular thing.
“Maybe there were one or two things – which I won’t go into.”
He continued: “I can be a controversial character. I got a rap on the knuckles last year for saying one thing off-air, which was fair enough.”
The panellists then tried to press him for an answer and Jane Moore gave her own answer regarding who this mysterious character was.

“In that case, I’ll say it. Shirley Ballas,” she said.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Brendan replied.
He added: “I was aggrieved with something, but it was off-air. And I got told that was out of line, and I agree, it was. But having said that, would I change? No. Because that’s who I am.
“I don’t think what happened with me was a singular incident. I’ve had 15 fantastic series on the show. Now’s a brand new chapter.”
However, Brendan had nothing but positive things to say about this year’s crop of celebrities on the show.

He went so far as calling the current series “phenomenal”, yet he didn’t open up on who he thought would win that coveted Glitterball trophy this year.
“I love the fact that the show’s still as big as ever, and I love the fact that people are celebrating it,” he said.
“The thing is with my daughter we bonded instantly,” he said. “She’s my little girl, proper daddies girl. My son, I just struggled to bond, I found it quite I’m finding it hard to speak about it now because you go ‘Is there something wrong?’”
