Amazon.” data-reactid=”22″ type=”text”>A California mother got quite a surprise when she discovered her toddler purchased a $430 couch on Amazon.

NBC 7. “I thought, ‘Did I buy a couch in my sleep?'”” data-reactid=”23″ type=”text”>”I was just so shocked,” Isabella McNeil told NBC 7. “I thought, ‘Did I buy a couch in my sleep?'”

Amazon for a new couch, received a notification from Amazon that her purchased had shipped to her residence.” data-reactid=”24″ type=”text”>But it turns out McNeil’s 2-year-old daughter, Rayna, was the clicking culprit. McNeil, who had recently been browsing on Amazon for a new couch, received a notification from Amazon that her purchased had shipped to her residence.

“I said, ‘What? My couch has shipped? I didn’t remember ordering a couch,'” McNeil told NBC.

She then remembered that the previous week, young Rayna had requested to play her with mother’s cell phone, saying “Mama, phone. Mama, phone.” The toddler unknowingly utilized the “Buy Now With 1-Click” button on Amazon, prompting an order for a grey, tufted couch to be completed.

While McNeil attempted to cancel the order, she was unable to to do so. There would be a $79 restocking fee, as well as a bill for around $100 to ship the large box back to Amazon. Low and behold, the couch arrived on her doorstep in a large cardboard box soon after.

“Lesson learned,” McNeil said. “Now I know it’s really dangerous and [I need] to make sure the Amazon app is closed before my daughter takes the phone. It’s just so easy.”

“Sometimes, when you’re a mom and you’re just in that desperation and you just kind of want them to settle down, the first thing you go to is, ‘Here, play with my phone for a little bit,’” McNeil told NBC 7. “It’s not worth $179 to just let her play with my phone. Now I’m going to be a lot more aware of my Amazon app.”
