The professional dancer, 37 – who announced his split from wife Katya, 30, last month – and the former footballer, 34, garnered attention from both the judges and fans during their romantic performance to David Guetta’s What I Did For Love.
Highlighting their alluring connection, panelist Shirley Ballas gushed: ‘What I did like about the dance was the chemistry, overall a little bit better than last week!’

Head judge Shirley, 59, wasn’t the only viewer to comment on the pair’s strong bond, as fans took to Twitter in their droves to express their thoughts on Alex and Neil’s set.
One social media user penned: ‘Alex Scott definitely brought the ‘Sass’ in that Cha Cha Cha. Have enjoyed watching her and Neil’s chemistry in their two dances so far #Strictly.’
‘Chemistry between Alex and Neil actually has me screaming though. YAS PLEZ. #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly2019’, a second fan agreed.
A third viewer shared: ‘Alex and Neil’s Cha Cha Cha was alright and it’s great to see Alex growing in confidence and agree with Shirley there is dance chemistry between Alex and Neil! Plus who wouldn’t want a masterclass in sass and self-care from Michelle Visage?’

‘Alex was amazing #StrictlyComeDancing whey too harsh considering the other dancers and also suprisingly loving Neil what a talent’, [sic] another added.
Despite their cosy display, the professional partners – who finished with a solid 22 points out of 40 – were criticised on their weak foot placement
Ballroom pro Shirley explained: ‘You had some energy, you had a strong performance… to lead forward now you need stronger foot placement, better foot action too as you’re a bit flat in the feet.
‘You have to decide whether it’s a bent or straight leg, as well as some rhythm in the middle’, the dance specialist elaborated.
‘I am here for Alex and Neil’s chemistry’: Fans took to Twitter in their droves to express their thoughts on Alex and Neil’s set
Italian choreographer Bruno Tonioli, 63, expressed: ‘If you don’t place your feet correctly you won’t get the right hip action it loses the feel of Cha Cha Cha. I appreciate what you do but keep those feet working correctly.’
Meanwhile, Neil’s estranged wife Katya and her celebrity partner Mike scored a disappointing 14 points out of 40 with an American Smooth to Rhinestone Cowboy by Glen Campbell.
Tap expert Neil and Russian beauty Katya announced they were ending their six-year marriage in August, ten months after she was caught kissing her dance partner Seann Walsh in the street.
And on the first edition of the live shows, Strictly fans were convinced he alluded to the scandal in his quickstep choreography as he made his debut with Alex earlier this month.

The skilled dancer and the sports pundit were the first couple to take to the dancefloor and Neil revelled at finally getting a celebrity partner.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed one very interesting piece of choreography in the routine, where Neil leaned in for a kiss only to be swiftly rebuffed by Alex.
While Neil and Alex scored 21 out of 40, Katya and BBC sports presenter Mike, 53, were awarded 22 points for their vibrant jive to Do You Love Me?
This year’s line-up also boasts the likes of former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher, soap star Catherine Tyldesley, James Cracknell and Michelle Visage.
