Asked about the Sevilla midfielder, Emery said: “I know him but we haven’t made a move for him.”
He added: “Normally, in my career the big clubs don’t close the [door] or the moment to sign a new player.
“Today, we are OK. Maybe we can bring in one if there’s a very good possibility for them to help us. But the club has done a great job of signing new players and I am happy.”
3:45pm: Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has landed his third summer signing after completing a season-long loan deal for Chelsea winger Kenedy.
The Magpies have confirmed that the 22-year-old Brazilian will spend the 2018-19 campaign at St James’ Park after impressing during a loan spell during the second half of last season.
Benitez said: “I’m really pleased to have Kenedy back with us. I’m sure every fan will be happy with this signing.

The report states that Klopp is prepared to use £80m from his budget to sign the Argentinian.
2pm: Liverpool have no intention of pursuing Alisson Becker this summer, Sky Sports say.
Reports in Italy overnight suggested that a £58m bid has been lodged for Roma stopper Alisson.

Real Madrid have also been touted as a potential destination for Alisson and Liverpool cooling their interest opens the door for them to swoop.

Signing the Chelsea star and Real Madrid target has been made a priority by the Catalan giants as they seek more competition in attack.
Hazard’s wages won’t be a problem, although negotiations with Chelsea are unlikely to be straightforward.
Barcelona are planning to contact the Blues over a transfer.
12.30pm: Barcelona have lodged a second bid worth £60m for Willian of Chelsea.
The offer is £55m up front with £5m extra in add ons, according to the Daily Mail.
The proposal follows the Catalan giants’ first bid of £50m which was rejected by the Blues.
Manchester United are also keen on Willian, but Barcelona are looking to land the Brazil international winger.

The Manchester Evening News say the 28-year-old will ultimately have the final say over whether he heads to Old Trafford.

On his decision to join the promoted club from Nice, Seri said: “I’m ready to get started and looking forward to meeting the squad and getting to know them, the Head Coach and his staff better.
