Oregon announces uniforms for road game at USC – 247Sports

On Thursday, the Ducks announced that they’ll be wearing the Nike Vapor Fusion white uniforms with yellow pants and yellow helmet this Saturday night as Oregon kicks off against the USC Trojans at 5:00pm PT on Fox.

The 2019 “Nike Vapor Fusion” uniform resembled the “Oregon Football 2.0” uniforms the Ducks wore in 2018 but have a few minor differences. The numbers feature perforated numbering, with an Oregon “O” moved to the right breastplate instead of a “Ducks” graphic in the 2018 uniforms. The number backplate also doesn’t feature a backing with the names directly on the back of the uniforms.

Oregon and Nike have long been tied together with the companies founding at the University when track coach Bill Bowerman and athlete Phil Knight developed their first running shoe. After the 1995 season, Nike began a campaign that launched for the 1999 season that gave the Ducks a rebrand and introduced the Oregon “O”, which has become the symbol for Oregon athletics over the past 20 years.

In November of 2017, the university and Nike reached a new contract worth $88 million over 11 years. Under the terms of the new deal, the university receives between $2 million and $2.5 million in cash per year and up to $6 million worth of apparel. That is up from the current deal which is worth $750,000 in cash and $2.5 million in apparel. Nike’s contract with Oregon also secures additional royalties for the university and an additional internship for a University of Oregon student.
