Mandel: The NCAA should just let transfers play – The Athletic

Oh, for crying out loud. Just let them play.

It’s no coincidence this comes amidst a confusing and controversial offseason that’s seen high-profile players like QBs Justin Fields (from Georgia to Ohio State) and Tate Martell (from Ohio State to Miami) get their waiver requests rubber-stamped, while more anonymous names like tight end Luke Ford (from Georgia to Illinois) and Brock Hoffman (from Coastal Carolina to Virginia Tech) got theirs denied.

All of this has been swept up and grouped with the new-fangled Transfer Portal, unveiled last year, to become a never-ending source of consternation for fans and coaches.
