Welp, Love Island fans have had to watch Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins doing bits again… but at least they learned a valuable lesson about kimonos, this time.
Viewers haven’t been too keen on the couple’s romantic antics after a promising start. Whether it was Curtis wearing socks while they were Doing Bits or their gratuitous kissing during recoupling ceremonies, these two are the king and queen of doing too much.
Coming on the heels of the debate over whether or not Curtis is “manly”, viewers collectively groaned during Tuesday’s (July 23) episode when the Islanders voted to give the couple a night in the Hideaway.
“I’ve been waiting from day one to see what the Hideaway was like,” Maura teased in her saucy way. “I’m definitely excited to spend some quality time alone with Curtis.”
Molly-Mae then cheekily predicted: “Maura is literally going to destroy Curtis tonight. He’s going to come back with a limp.”
Things immediately got off to a rough start when Curtis decided to wear a flowery kimono and a red feather boa to the Hideaway.
“I can’t take you seriously in that kimono,” Maura admitted to him.
Thankfully, he did get some valuable advice from Chris that had viewers cracking up, when Chris told the ballroom dancer: “Fold the kimono, don’t crease it.”
Can we crown this guy the winner all by himself?

After Chris’s valuable advice, the couple got down to, well, something. Narrator Iain Stirling made a crack about Maura moaning Curtis’s name all night long… but we don’t want to think about that.
The following morning, Curtis kept up his attempts at sexy banter by telling Maura: “I wish we could spend longer in here. A lot longer.”
Viewers are relieved they’re headed back to the villa and spared us any further kimono action, for now!
Love Island airs at 9pm on ITV2, and you can catch up on the show via ITV Hub.
