LEWIS Capaldi has broken his silence on his ex Paige Turley appearing on Love Island – saying he wants a slice of the £50k if she wins.
Speaking on New Zealand show The Edge, Lewis joked: “The prize is like £50,000 and I’ll be like “Well, listen. They asked you to go on it right I’m not saying I’m the reason but also… slide me two grand”.”
He continued: “She never told me she was going on it. That would have been a nice heads up.
“But fair play and good luck to her.
“I’ll be f***ing watching it – like go on Paige, come on.
“When she’s on a date with a boy I’ll be like come on kiss him. I hope she wins.”
He added: “I’ve known her for years. 18 when we first met, 19 when we started going out, 20 when we finished going out.
“It was a very amicable breakup.”
The Sun previously revealed the glam Scot cheated on the singer with his best mate, inspiring his biggest hit to date.
They dated for more than a year after they met in college, but it emerged Paige had a fling with Garry Greig, one of Lewis’s closest friends.
Unsuspecting Lewis was said to have been “absolutely devastated” when Paige dumped him after more than a year together – despite him insisting it was amicable.
Their break-up even inspired his No1 ballad Someone You Loved.
Paige entered the villa on Sunday evening and wasted no time in namedropping her very famous ex in her VT – and said sorry to him.
She said: “One of my ex boyfriends is Lewis Capaldi. According to the papers his song Some One You Loved was about me.
“Lewis, I’m so sorry I must have been a b***h” to you.”
His comment come as viewers begged producers to send Lewis into the notorious Casa Amor to confront Paige.
