She had millions of male teenage fans after her appearances in smash hit TV comedy The Inbetweeners.
But modest Emily Atack insists a few years on from playing Charlotte Hinchcliffe in the show, some of the viewers may now be disappointed to see her on I’m A Celebrity in the jungle shower.
Emily, 28, tells the Mirror: “It is quite funny really because everyone always thinks when you are in your 20s and you go on this show people are waiting to see you in your bikini. I just can only apologise in advance but I definitely don’t look how I did five years ago.
“I have got way more junk in the trunk and I am way more squishy around the edges, if you like that sort of thing great, if you don’t I am sorry about that. That is just what I look like.
“I have got six very nice swimming cossies and bikinis which will hopefully be suited to my body shape which is curvy and bouncy.”
Emily hit the headlines recently when photos were published of her on a cosy night out with shamed Strictly Come Dancing star Seann Walsh, sparking rumours they may have once dated.
But asked about it she says simply: “I think Seann has had enough stuff in the press about him, so I wont be talking about Seann today.”
She adds that she will keep it Strictly professional in camp too, saying: “I am not going in there to talk about my dating life and my private life. When you start talking about your love life in the public eye it is a recipe for disaster. It is important to keep things to yourself and private. I might be a bit gobby about things sometimes but I think when it comes to my love life I need to keep things as private as possible really.”
However single Emily is looking for love at the moment and wouldn’t turn down some flirting in the jungle it it comes her way.
She said: “I think if you go looking for something like love it is harder to find. But I am single. I don’t think I am in the best position to be chatting someone up when I am covered in bugs and haven’t got any make up on and wont be smelling my best. So I don’t think it is the perfect dating scenario so maybe I will wait until I come out for that but never say never. I am single and there is someone in there that is nice I will definitely have a little look.”
Emily also revealed her famous cousin Paul McCartney used to sing for her and her siblings and said she hopes he would back her to do well on the show.
She is going on her first solo comedy tour in the New Year and wants to use the jungle as a way to move her career on from simply being ‘that girl’ from The Inbetweeners.
She said: “I think in a show like this it is nice to showcase who you are as a person. I think as an actor you are constantly playing other people, I would like people to get to know me on a more personal level. Especially when you have been typecast in sexy promiscuous roles, you want to show people you have got more strings to your bow than just that. And I think this show is perfect for that.”
