And Harry quipped “there’s a heavy baby in there” at the glittering function at the annual Endeavour Fund Awards at Drapers’ Hall, a posh central London hotel.
Meghan praised her husband saying: “He’s going to be a good daddy.”
The couple’s unborn baby could potentially be the royal family’s heaviest baby. Prince Louis currently holds the record after weighing 8lb, 7oz when he was born in April last year.
Louis was heavier than both his siblings and took the ‘heaviest baby’ gong from his big brother.
In contrast, Prince William weighed a lean 7lbs 1.5oz back in 1982 and Harry came in at just 6lbs 14oz in 1984. George and Charlotte’s grandfather, Prince Charles, was a little heavier than his sons at 7lbs 6oz back in 1948.
The royal couple, who wed in May last year, attended the event recognising the achievements of men and women who, despite life-changing injuries, accidents or illnesses, have excelled in a sporting or adventure challenge.
The former Suits actress opted for a monochrome look from her wedding dress designer Givenchy for the occasion.
It was her first public appearance since her friends defended her in a row with her family .
Meghan and Harry chaired the judging panel, which deliberated over who would receive the three awards – recognising achievement, celebrating excellence, and the third named in memory of adventurer Henry Worsley, who died trying to complete the first unsupported crossing of the Antartic.

The monarch turns 93 on April 21.
