Season 5 of Fortnite has barely just started, but gamers have already got a sneak peak at its upcoming Battle Pass skins and the secrets to completing its Week 1 treasure map challenge.
Meanwhile, the secrets to completing the new Risky Reels treasure map challenge have also been revealed.
The new Battle Pass skins and challenges for Season 5 of Fortnite have just now been revealed
While the advertisement for the skins has since been removed, Fortnite Intel was able to obtain a screenshot of the purported new Battle Pass skins:
Each skin features a starkly different theme to it.
One, which appears to be a Japanese-themed outfit, prominently features a kitsune-inspired mask, something first glimpsed in a recent teaser hinting at a time travel theme for the new season. An interesting aspect of the leaked image is that the character appears to be removing the mask, possibly hinting that they could be completely separate from outfits or a piece of an upgradable skin set.
Epic Games has yet to confirm or deny this.
The other two skins appear to be soldier-themed and Viking or Nordic-inspired respectively.
The new theme for Season 5, ‘World’s Collide,’ indeed features several new skins for players to obtain.
The Drift skin has been confirmed as the one wearing the robe and the mask while the Viking-theme one is known as Huntress. The military-themed skin glimpsed in the recent leak is called Sledgehammer while the Sun Strider and Rook skins appear to be lifeguard and FBI agent-themed respectively. Another skin, Redline, appears to be a female version of the Burnout skin.
The tier 100 skin is known as Ragnarok, an upgradable skin that transforms from a shirtless warrior to a fearsome warlord boasting an intimidating demonic skull-inspired headpiece.
In addition, intrepid Fortnite gamers have also already taken up finishing a difficult new challenge for Week 1 of Season 5. The new Risky Reels treasure map challenge will award players ten Battle Stars for players who successfully complete it.
In a new YouTube video posted by user DooM ShelbyRenae, the trick to finishing the challenge successfully is not to head to Risky Reels, but rather to a location just to the south of Tomato Town. There, the Battle Star can be located atop the tunnel closest to the location.
Notably, challenges for Season 5’s Week 1 have seen major changes. Now, the video game’s new season will have three free challenges while four will be reserved on for Battle Pass holders.
The new challenges for Fortnite Season 5 are as follows:
- Search a Supply Llama
- Damage opponents with submachine guns
- Eliminate opponents with grenades, stink bombs or clingers (HARD)
Battle Pass challenges
- Search for floating Lightning Bolts
- Search for Chests in Snobby Shores
- Eliminate opposing players in Retail Row (HARD)
- Follow the Risky Reels treasure map (HARD)
Fortnite Season 5 start
