After the EC declaration, the Jammu Kashmir unit of the Congress alleged that the center of “mishandling” of the situation due to deferred assembly elections “The Center’s tall claims regarding the situation in the state stand exposed. The Center has itself certified that the situation is out of control and not conducive for holding simultaneous polls,” Congress Congress Committee President GA Mir said in a statement.
Mir said it was a golden opportunity for the Center to hold the Assembly elections to give an elected government to the people, as all political parties simultaneously favored elections in the state.
Senior CPM leader MY Tarigami also questioned the deferment of the assembly elections and said that it will send out wrong signals to people within and outside the state.
