NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Class X Board results for the year 2019 on Monday, May 6, 2019.
The Class 10th Board result was released around 02:00 pm today at CBSE’s official websites – cbseresults.nic.in and cbse.nic.in.
As many as 13 students topped the CBSE Class X results and shared the first position by scoring 499 marks out of 500. Out of these 13 students are from eight states, two students are from Rajasthan and one each from Haryana, Punjab and Kerala.
Top two students – Siddhant Pengoriya and Divyansh Wadhwa – are from Noida and top five students are from Uttar Pradesh alone.
Around 25 students secured second rank by scoring 498 while 59 candidates ranked third, they scored 497 out of 500 marks in the CBSE Class 10 results today.
This year too, the girls students outshone boys in the CBSE class 10 results with a pass percentage of 92.45 percent.
57, 256 students scored more than 95% marks while 2,25, 143 got more than 90 percent marks but less than 95%.
This year the result recorded is 4.40% increase than the previous year. Last year the pass percentage was 86.70, while this year the pass percentage is 91.10 percent cent.
The CBSE Class 10 Board Examinations were conducted at 6,000 centers across India and abroad from February 21 to March 29, 2019. This year, Class 18 examinations for 18,27,472 students registered.
A total of 31,14,831 students registered for 2019 CBSE Class 10th and 12th examinations.
According to a press release issued by CBSE last month, 5,69,696 candidates had registered for CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 examinations from Delhi.
This year maximum female candidates (2,72,271) appeared from Delhi and the maximum male candidates (3,38,613) were from Uttar Pradesh (UP).
In 2018, 16.38 lakh students appeared for the class 10 board exams. The CBSE announced the Class 10 result on May 29 at 4 pm. Last year, the total pass percentage was 86.07 per cent.
The CBSE was also ahead of the ICSE board which is the first to announce the results every year.
Class 10 exams were conducted from February 2 to March 29, while Class 12 board exams were held from February 15 to 4 April. This year, over 27 lakh candidates appeared for the Class 10 CBSE exams.

Last week, the results for Class 12 exams were announced. In the Class 12th results, declared on May 2, 2019, the CBSE schools showed improvement as it passed a pass percentage of 91.87 percent.
The result in Delhi Government improved by 2.87%
In 2018, the pass percentage for Delhi schools was 89 percent, this year it jumped to 91.87 percent.
However, the total pass percentage for the country was 83.4%. The region with the highest pass percentage was Thiruvananthapuram at 98.2%, followed by Chennai at 92.93% and Delhi at 91.87%. The percentage of students who passed in international schools was 95.43%.

Girls, like in previous years, performed better than boys by 9%. Some 88.70% of girls passed, followed by transgenders at 83.3% and boys at 79.4%.
Kendriya Vidyayala Schools had a staggering pass passage of 98.54%, Tibetan schools were at 96%, government-aided schools were at 88.49% and private schools were the lowest of the lot at 82.59%.
