Those people were symptom-free at the time of the announcement.

Cabarrus County joins a growing list in our area of counties that are monitoring people for the deadly virus.

There are no confirmed cases in the Carolinas.

The number of new cases of the coronavirus in China dropped for a second straight day, health officials said Wednesday.

The outbreak has infected over 45,000 people worldwide and killed more than 1,100.

The risk is low for the U.S., CDC said.

The state’s emergency management director and health director will lead a new coronavirus task force created by Gov. Roy Cooper.
