MUMBAI: A

1.5-foot cobra

was saved from a first-floor flat in Mulund on Thursday evening. The spectacled cobra had slithered in the kitchen in Anju Building around 4pm, said Hasmukh Valanju, one of the rescuers.

Two people in the house quickly rushed in the bedroom and before the alerting a neighbor.

The snake has slipped in steel vessels on a shelf in the kitchen, said Joaquim Naik, Rescue team from Rescue group for Wildlife Welfare, another member of the rescue team.

A few weeks ago, a couple of baby snakes had been spotted in the locality, said Sukhbir Kaur (60), a resident of the building said that Kaur.

TOI reported on April 5 about a rock python found in the toilet of a house in Bhandup a fifteen ago ago.
